Merry Christmas

Throughout the year we receive so many precious gifts from you. Your generosity and financial support, the kind and thoughtful words of encouragement you tuck in an envelope or send in an email, and, most important, the prayers and sacrifices you offer on our behalf – all of these are beautiful packages of love that you send us and which mean so much to us. They may not always come in red or green metallic wrapping paper and may be without ribbon or bow but they are always very meaningful gifts to us nonetheless and are constant reminders of the nearness of God and of His ever-providential care and infinite love. For such precious gifts we would like to say “thank you” to each and every one of you from the very bottom of our hearts. If we could wrap up a little gift of gratitude and send it to you for Christmas, we most certainly would. But know that during the days of Christmas each of you will be remembered in our prayers as we make special visits to the chapel and spend time before the Christmas creche contemplating the profound mystery of the Incarnation, that birth forever blessed, when the Virgin, full of grace, by the power of the Holy Ghost conceiving bore the Savior of our race; And the Babe, the world’s Redeemer, first revealed His sacred face. [from the Christmas Hymn: Of the Father’s Love Begotten].

Christmas greetings to you all this year in these beautiful words of St. Padre Pio taken from one of his letters written at Christmas in 1917: “May the grace of the Divine Infant always imbue your heart until it is transformed into heavenly love! With this most ardent prayer I wish you every happiness during the feasts of the Holy Babe of Bethlehem. May it please this Divine Child to hasten the day of peace so greatly desired by all hearts.”

Merry Christmas and a very Blessed New Year to you and to your families!

May the Lord give you His Peace,
The Friars

  1. You are wonderful priests and religious. Thank you and everyone at EWTN for the best network in the whole world. Our Lord really did choose the right person in Mother Angelica. If only feminists realised what a truly feminine woman (we know from the Blessed Mother) can achieve, some as wives and mothers and some like the founders of the network they would find peace and contentment and leave men to be men and know that this lifeis not a competition. The sexes should complement each other and everything we do however mundane can be done for God.
A Happy and hopefully Prosperous New Year for EWTN
